To celebrate your child’s end of their primary school education, a graduation ceremony will take place on Monday 12 December. 

 

Parents/guests are invited to attend an official graduation ceremony in the school gym from 6.30pm (please be seated by 6:15pm). Doors will open at 6:00pm to allow guests to check in and be seated. Grade 6 graduates must enter the multi-purpose room at 5:30pm to meet their teacher. 

 

Entry to the Graduation Ceremony can be purchased through Compass.

 

To ensure the comfort and safety of the graduating students and attendees on the night, guests for each student will be limited to 2 people. Purchasing your entry through Compass costs $20 per student. The $20 payment will admit up to 2 guests. The school will have a record of your payment as proof of entry. 

 

Graduating students need to be dressed in their full school uniform. Students not in their school uniform will be denied entry. 

 

This is a day when all Victorian state school students visit their new secondary school to begin the transition process for next year. Students are expected to make their own way to their secondary school; they do not come to Craigieburn Primary School. They are expected to wear their current school uniform. Your child’s 2023 secondary school will provide further information.  

 

To celebrate the completion of Primary School, Grade 6 students will have an excursion to Funfields in Whittlesea on Thursday 15 December. Funfields is a fun park located at Whittlesea with water slides and activities suitable for all ages.

 

The children will view and discuss a Funfields Safety Video before attending. The cost for the excursion is $45, which will cover the bus and entry to Funfields. Payment is required by Friday 9 December.

 

Children need to arrive at school on time. The bus will depart at 9.15am and return by the end of the school day.

Children are NOT required to wear school uniforms to Funfields but will need to bring their school hats.

Please ensure your child has the following:

• appropriate swimwear for waterslides

• t-shirt

• underwear and change of clothing for coming back to school

• school hat
• towel

• sunscreen

• packed lunch with water

• OPTIONAL: money for the canteen

The cost of this excursion is $45. We require payment for the excursion by Friday 9 December, 2022. Preferred payment is through Compass. No late payments will be accepted.

 

Children will have the opportunity to sign a graduation signature bear to congratulate them on completing their Primary Schooling. Graduation bears will be signed in the last week of school, and the students will have an assigned time and day for this to occur. The Grade 6 students will be issued with the Graduation Bears in the last week of the term.  

 

The bear cost is $15.95, and payment must be received by Friday 9 December 2022 for your child to receive a bear. Preferred payment is through Compass.

 

As part of the end-of-year process Grade 6 behaviour is monitored weekly. Behaviour expectations are discussed, and if a student’s behaviour is unacceptable, parents will be contacted by their child’s teacher. Students’ behaviour may affect their attendance to celebratory events, including the Graduation Ceremony and Funfields.
