What is SWPBS?
School-wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is a whole-school approach that promotes positive behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion for all students, creating the right conditions for effective teaching and learning.
At Craigieburn Primary School, SWPBS helps us create a safe and supportive learning environment by teaching and reinforcing our core values of Resilience, Responsibility and Kindness. These values guide the way we learn, interact with others and contribute to our school community.
What does SWPBS look like in our school?
Positive Behaviour Matrix
|
Our Positive Behaviour Matrix provides a clear guide to the behaviours we expect from all students. It helps students understand what our school values of Resilience, Responsibility and Kindness look like in action across different school settings.
Staff regularly teach, model and reinforce the expectations outlined in our Positive Behaviour Matrix. This ensures that all students have a shared understanding of how to be resilient, responsible and kind learners and community members. |

Minor and Major Behaviours
|
As part of our SWPBS framework, student behaviours are categorised as either minor or major. This helps ensure that student behaviour is responded to consistently, fairly and appropriately across the school.
By clearly defining minor and major behaviours, we provide students with clear expectations and support a positive, safe and respectful learning environment for all. |

Positive Points and Rewards
|
Students can earn Positive Points for demonstrating our school values of Resilience, Responsibility and Kindness. Points are awarded when students display positive behaviours, make responsible choices, show resilience, support others and contribute positively to our school community. This recognition helps reinforce the behaviours and attitudes that support learning, wellbeing and success.
As students accumulate points, they can exchange them for rewards from our Rewards Menu. The rewards available have been selected by students and offer a range of engaging and meaningful options that celebrate their efforts and achievements.
By focusing on recognising positive behaviour, we help students develop the skills and habits needed to become resilient, responsible and kind members of our school community. |
